FEATURES: Large conference area with prefunction space for 500, tourism welcome center, 200 parking spaces
CLIENT: City of Shelbyville, Kentucky
TYPE: New Construction
SUMMARY: EOP’s design incorporates three silos that already serve as a landmark on the site with steep grades allowing a unique orientation perpendicular to street. The facility includes floor-to-ceiling windows broken up by stone frontage, a metal gabled roof wrapping around the back and interior roof trusses that separate the space into three acoustically different areas. The space accommodates 500 with expanded prefunction space, 200 parking spaces on the front and separate lot behind a retaining wall for overflow and buses. Shelbyville Tourism will occupy space, and Ohio Valley Educational Cooperative (OVEC) will provide training in the center.
