Officials Celebrate Topping Out of Frankfort Office Building

FRANKFORT, Ky., August 5, 2015 — Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear opened today’s topping out ceremony for the Frankfort Office Building saying, “We owe our state employees the quality space they need. Let’s get this beam up!” Topping out is a builders’ rite held when the last beam is placed atop a structure during its erection. A tree is placed on the topmost wood or iron beam. EOP Architects, developer CRM Companies and builder D.W. Wilburn celebrate as the final beam is lifted into place for the new office building which will house 1,400 state employees.
