Lexington Senior Center Opens to Packed House

LEXINGTON, Ky., Sep. 9, 2016 — The EOP-designed Lexington Senior Center held its ribbon-cutting ceremony today to a packed house with Mayor Jim Gray, government officials, staff and hundreds of seniors in attendance. Designing a building that plays an important role in seniors’ health feeds our passion; moreover, designing a building we will eventually use is somewhat poignant.

The new $13 million 33,000-square-foot senior center is about double the size of the old center. The senior center includes touches to accommodate seniors, including short corridors between program spaces, said John Catlin, EOP’s consultant for senior design.
