FRANKFORT,. Ky., Mar. 11, 2019 — One year ago today, the CRM-led team imploded the outdated and inefficient Capital Plaza Tower to make way for a new state office building designed by EOP. In a “blast” from the past, WKYT reports on the anniversary and the team’s progress with the new building and parking structure.
Originally scheduled for completion in early 2020, the development is months ahead of schedule, and will soon consolidate 1,600 state employees from 22 buildings to one.
“It’s amazing. We never would’ve thought that we would be this far ahead of schedule…that has been pretty impressive,” comments Commissioner Mike Burnside with Kentucky Facilities and Support Services.
